7th Grade Southern Star Festival

Six Flags Southern Star Music Festival 2008

April 25th - Concert Performance at Riverwood HS - 4:50pm

April 26th - Spend the day at Six Flags

This year we are taking the 7th Grade students to the Southern Star Music Festival, which is run through Six Flags Over Georgia.  Students were sent home information packets today, with trip order forms and package options.  This trip is optional, but a students MUST participate in the Friday performance in order to participate in the Saturday in the park.  More detailed information can be found by downloading the following information:  Download 7GradeSixFlagsLetter2008.doc

We are implementing a "Three Strikes" Discipline system for this trip.  A student may acquire strikes for various behavior issues.  Our goal is not to prevent students from participating in the trip, but ensuring that the students are displaying the appropriate behavior in all school activities.  More detailed information on this system can be found by downloading the following form: Download three_strikes_system.doc

8th Grade Pre-Festival Concert

8th Grade Pre-Festival Concert is Thursday, February 28th at Walton High School

This concert is a mandatory concert and students will sing with the Walton Choruses as well as performing their festival music for a mock judging panel.

Date:  Thursday, February 28th

Place: Walton High School Auditorium

Time:  Students report at 6:30pm;  Concert begins at 7:30pm

Dress:  Formal Concert Uniform (Long Dresses for the ladies, Tux Shirt and Vest for gentlemen)

Parents will need to arrange transportation to and from the performance.

Disney Trip Mandatory Meeting

Please reserve Thursday, April 17th at 6:30pm

Each year we meet with all the students attending the trip and at least one parent per child.  This meeting is to turn in important trip forms as well as to make sure all trip guidelines and expectations are understood.  In order for a child to participate in this trip both a parent and the child MUST attend this meeting.  It will be held at Dickerson in the theater. 

We will be sending out an information packet and forms on March 28th.  Please read all the information in the packet and fill the forms out BEFORE the meeting.  One of the forms requires a notary signature.

The final Disney payment of $90.00 will be due by Monday, March 3rd.

CHAPERONES ARE NEEDED FOR THE ENTIRE EVENT. If you are available, please check the box on the permission form when you sign.

Due to transportation limitations, this year we will bring students back to school for a pizza lunch before they return to class.  We will distribute an order form for that in early March.

Parents are welcome to come watch the performances.  Performance times are as follows:
