Final Exam

The Math 8 final exam will be on Tuesday morning.  Students have been reviewing in class this week through their review projects.  In addition to the review, students should study old tests, quizzes, and homework to prepare.  All parent letters were posted on my blog on Monday and should act as a study guide for students.  The letters include vocabulary, concepts, and sample problems for all units studied this year.  Textbook chapters and additional resources are listed on the letters.  Students who opted not to take back their textbook should access the online textbook for tutorials and practice problems for any concepts that they need to strengthen (again, see Parent Letters for concepts and appropriate textbook and additional resources).  On Monday, students will work sample exam questions as the last preparation.

Friday, May 16

Students who brought in their books yesterday and today were sent home with any damage notices.  Students who did not bring in their books have been reminded to bring them in on Monday for inspection.  Students were given the option to either leave their books in the classroom and use the online textbook to study for the exam, or to take bake their textbook to use for studying.  All textbooks need to be returned to me by Wednesday, May 21.

Final Exam Schedule

Next week is EXAM week.  If you know you will not be here to take the math exam, you must bring in a note from a parent so that we can schedule your make-up exam this summer.

The week will go as follows:

Monday: Review day (math)

Tuesday: Math / Science

Wednesday: Foreign Language or Reading / English

Thursday: Social Studies

Friday: Last Day of 8th Grade! (activities)

Week of May 12 - May 16

Students will be working on a Review Project this week in math class.  Class time will be devoted to project work.  Students will work in groups to complete the project.  Each group has been assigned a unit and will present their information in the form of a Jeopardy game on Thursday and Friday.  This will allow all students to review the material from each unit.  Projects will be graded as a test grade.  The links below provide project instructions, project rubric for grading, and information that is to be included for each unit.
