Good evening,

we are continuing our work over The Young Man and The Sea and figurative language. We are moving along at a good pace and will be finished hopefully in about a week and a half. When the book is finished they will have a test over the book and figurative language.

Remember your homework everynight is to read for 30 minutes.

Good evening,

please remember to sign your your child's reading log tonight. They are to have 210 minutes for this week.

We are continuing with the packet of activities relating to "The Young Man and The Sea" . Tomorrow we will finish those and review the answers. The students will all then read their own books.

Good evening,

today we worked on answering questions regarding chapters 1-3. Tomorrow we will read chapters 4-7 and then have more comprehension question pertaining to those on Thursday. We will go through the same process until the book is finished. When we are finished we will then take the average of all the worksheet grades for one quiz grade. Then there will be a test over the book and figurative language combined.

This whole process will take about two and a half weeks.

Good evening,

we began reading The Young Man and The Sea today. Tomorrow we will be doing activities that go along with chapters 1-3. As we read, there with be assignments that I will grade along the way. There will not be a test for awhile, however there will be a lot of grades associated with the unit.

Dear parents,

 please remember to sign the reading logs tonight. Since break was last week, technically the students were only required to read 90 min. this week and 180 next week.

We will be working on figurative language throughout the week.

Welcome back,

today we introduced figurative language. Many of the students remember some of it , but are a bit fuzzy on the definitions. Throughout the next nine weeks we will be working on poetry, reading a novel " The Young Man and The Sea" and focusing on figurative language.

Since we have only four days of school this week and next ,the students are required to read 180 total minutes for  each week. The students will need a total of 30 AR points for this nine weeks. That catches you up on what is to come.
