Good evening,

I am about to post the reading logs . I have graded all of the quizzes( overall I was very pleased). I will put them in tomorrow.

We will finish Maximum Ride next week. The students can then take an AR test on it. They will also be taking a test on the book itself, but I will give a guide as to what to study for in the coming week as well.

Good afternoon,

Today we reviewed for  tomorrow's vocabulary quiz.

If you were off for the holiday and are taking the quiz tomorrow , just review your notecards. This quiz will be in the same format as the last one ,21 matching, 21 fill in the blanks.

Reading logs are also due tomorrow.

Dear parents and students,

The students are correcting their sentences; I have graded all of them and have made comments on all of them. Those that received theirs back yesterday should have the corrections turned into me tomorrow. If your class got theirs back today then turn them in on Friday.

If you are taking off for the Jewish holiday then please turn them in Friday.

Remember that the quiz is on Friday, please use the flash cards you made to study.

If you did poorly on your sentences (received at least seven wrong) , Mrs. Larkin is offering a help session tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. I can come and get you at 8:15  if that is too early.

Dear parents and students,

We read quite a lot of "Maximum Ride" today in class.

We have a quiz on Friday over the vocabulary words #21-41. I will attach the words for those students who have mis-placed them.Download Vocabulary for Maximum Ride 2.

Periods one, two and three have recieved their sentences back with comments . All students are to correct the ones used improperly, or correct the usage and turn them in by Thursday, unless you are out for the Jewish holiday , in which case you can turn them in on Friday.

As I have stated to the students , my goal is not not punish, but rather teach how these words are to be used .Hopefully they will incorporate these new words into their vocabulary.

If they make the corrections I will give them an improved grade.

DEar Parents and students,

those students who didn't finish their flashcards for Friday's quiz must finish them for tonight's homework.

I have been grading the sentences and will be giving most back tomorrow . Many of the papers won't have a grade on , but corrections and a note that says redo. I won't penalize for using the sentences incorrectly, but after the review we have been doing in class, they should be getting the hang of it. If after they redo them and still get it incorrect, then I will give the grade they have earned.

We read today and made flash cards for Friday's quiz. If you are taking off for the Jewish holiday on Thursday you may opt to take your quiz on Monday.

Remember to read for thirty minutes each night.

Dear parents,

please make sure the reading logs are signed tonight.

I have begun grading yesterday's assignment of vocabulary sentences I now  realize that many are weak in the understanding of the how to use these words. I will spend some time reteaching them.

If you didn't sign the progress report please do so and send them into your 1st period teachers.

There isn't too much to report for today. We did an activity with prefixes today and then read some more in Maximum Ride . We are going to pick up the pace reading the book so that we can get it finished by the end of the quarter.

The children were sent home with their progress reports, please sign them on the back and send that back to the first period teacher. We will look at the signature and return it to you.

Keep reading at home for thirty minutes per night.

Dear parents and students,

today we worked on prefixes, root words and suffixes. We also read Maximum Ride ( it's getting really exciting).

HW: If you have not already finished your vocabulary words, they are due tomorrow.

Progress report will come home with your children, please sign them and have them returned to your first period teacher.

For my first period: If your family is is need of an interpreter for conference week, later in October, please let me know tomorrow.

We are continuing to work on prefixes and suffixes as well as " maximum Ride" vocabulary and reading the book. We are keeping quite busy.

The vocabulary sentences that the kids have been working on are due on Wednesday. Most of the students have finished them, If not please work on them at home.
