1/31/08

I have been out due to illness, I will be back tomorrow. We will continue our introduction to the ancient civilizations.

I did advise of a physical geography quiz over specific landforms in South America. I will post those landforms tomorrow, as I didn't bring the list home. They put them on a map yesterday and their quiz is a week from tomorrow.

I have posted two classes , I may have one more done before tomorrow, the others, which have been returned already are at school and I will post them tomorrow.

week 1/28/08

After today, life will be getting back to normal ( I hope). We had a quiz, like promised, over the countries and capitals of Latin America. Many students didn't study and it was obvious. There were many good grades as well. I will have them graded by Wed. at the latest.

Please anticipate that it will get a bit more challenging as the year progresses, we are trying to prepare them for the 7th grade.

We will be working on physical geography and start talking about the history of the ancient civilizations in Latin America.

Week of 1/22/08

We have begun Latin America and I have advised the students that they will be having a blank map quuiz over S. America, Central America and a few of the Caribbean Islands The quiz will be on Monday the 28th. They have been given maps and have filled out the map or a key. The same maps will be used for the quizzes.

I will be posting the definition quizzes tonight or tomorrow, I was quite pleased with the grades overall. Some of the students are slipping, please stay on top of them.

We will begin filling in maps of physical features in Latin America tomorrow. It has been a  crazy week, but the kids are handling it fine. I have enjoyed meeting the parents during conferences.

Week 1/07/08

I have not received all the conference forms yet, please get those back so that we can accommodate those who need a change.. report cards will be given at conference, not before.

Before we get into Latin America we have been finishing a unit on the history of religions that have spread into Europe. There won't be homework until next week.
