I still have thirty-two testbooks out and I must get them back. I will have to bill parents if they don't get turned in. Please stick them in your backpacks so you can bring them to me during homeroom.

Tonight I will be posting the notebook grades, overall I am very pleased. I should be posting the power point grades for students that have presented.

We took our last notebook quiz today and the grades should be posted tomorrow or Thursday.

We are presenting and I am saving power points so that I may have them graded by Thursday, as our grades are to be turned in by then.

NOT EVERYONE HAS BROUGHT THEIR TEXTBOOK BACK. I MUST HAVE THEM NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SEND IT IN ASAP!

power point presentations have begun, a small percentage of students didn't finish theirs, so if they turn it in by tomorrow they'll get only ten points off, after that fifty.

Crossword puzzles are due tomorrow as well.

5/12/09

The power point presentations are due tomorrow. There will be no class time to work on  them. You need to work on them tonight  for homework.

As soon as class begins , we will start presenting.

Monday we will have a notebook quiz, after that they will not have to bring theirs to class.

I have posted most of the review packet grades, with the exception of third and I'll have those on there tomorrow.

Friday in Latin America day and we will have a funfilled and academic day .

We have sent home an envelope with a request for a dollar so that we may send the report cards to you. The sooner the better , please!

We had the opportunity to work on our power points , continue to work on them at home .

We have been in the computer lab working on our power points. Atfter today the lab or laptops will not be available to us for several days,  therefore work needs to be done at home. The powerpoints can be compiled( created in school), however information needs to be researched and rough drafts need to be written at home. On the 11th,12th, and 13th we will have laptops in the classroom to put the finishing touches on the power points. so far what I have seen looks great! We will presenting the power points the last week of school. These are equal to a test grade.

We will also continue working on our crosswords puzzles, grids, clues and terms. All this will be completed in school. the students will be swithching with other classes to see how challenging they are.this too, will be graded.

I am currently grading the packets, but it may take awhile.

The students should come to class with written information for their power points, we will be going to the E-lab on Monday and they really need to get started typing rather than using the time for researching. I give very little homework , so I think that you can all  do a little research, organize some notes and come prepared for class.

We spent today making crossword puzzles  relating to Australia and Latin America, the students will be trading their crossword puzzles with other classes to see how challenging they can make them. this will be for a 20% grade.

We have been completing a review packet. I expect this to be finished during class tomorrow, if they don't finish they will have to do so for homework tomorrow. I am taking this for a quiz grade. if you need a good site for the information go to www.CIAWorldFactbook.org I think its org.

Gather information for your power points, we will have some time for research tomorrow.

Good afternoon, today I gave each student a very long rubric/ example of the tour operator power point. I would like the students to find additional information on the places they chose . We will be going to the computer lab on Monday and Tuesday of next week to begin putting it together.

Today we went to the media center, but many of the students didn't utilize their time wisely, and therefore didn't get a good start. I will bring a cart of books in class tomorrow for the kids to work on after they complete a packet we have been working on in class.

The power point will be worth a test grade and I really want you to look at the details on the one trip I put together.

A few more grades will be added before the year ends.
