Argspider35x150 Tomorrow is Halloween! I know you will have a fun day dressing Arg_bat_trans up in a costume.  Remember, you may NOT wear face paint or masks.  Remember, too, that it is a REGULAR school day.  You will have classes and homework.

6th grade saw a video on some Greek myths.  They did not yet begin the story of "Atalanta and the Golden Apples."

7th grade discussed the Middle Ages.  Thank you, Suganya, for reading the blog and bringing in 2 interesting facts about the Middle Ages.  Maybe some other motivated student will also bring to class some interesting facts about the Middle Ages. (Hint! Hint!)

8th grade said goodbye to Myeung LeeMyeung will be attending the IEL classes at ECMS. We will all miss him!  Myeung, please write to tell us what you are learning!  Happy Trick or Treating tomorrow night.

Halloween is coming.  Will you be ready? Argwitchtrickortreat101url_2

Hello Everybody!

You may wear your Halloween costume on Wednesday, October 31st.  Remember no face paint or masks.

6th graders had a quiz on the Venn Diagram (ancient/modern Olympics.)  Tomorrow you will begin a Greek Myth called "Atalanta and the Golden Apples."

7th graders also had a short quiz on colors.  You began the new topic of the Middle Ages.  Find 2 interesting facts abut the Middle Ages to share with the class tomorrow.  There might be a jolly rancher for you, too!

8th graders are continuing to study weather.  I added 2 new weather-related words today:  radar, satellite.  There will be a pretest on the 17 vocabulary words tomorrow.

Happy Friday, Folks!

Are you planning your Halloween costume?  You may dress up next Wednesday but no face paint or masks.

All grades went to the Media Center today.  You checked out new books, rechecked out others, read silently and took A.R. tests.

On Monday I hope 6th graders remember their Venn diagram on Ancient and Modern Olympics.  (Hint! Hint!)

I know that 7th graders remember the colors of a rainbow, and the characters from the story "The River That Gave Gifts."  (Hint! Hint!)

8th graders will continue the unit on weather.  Review the weather vocabulary words.                                         Argghostfloaturl

Hello 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders!

Today 6th grade finished all presentations, completed a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the ancient and modern Olympics. I wonder if you will have a quiz on Monday over these words and the ideas?????

7th grade finished the story segment summaries and illustrations for "The River That Gave Gifts."  I wonder if 7th grade will have a quiz over colors, vocabulary (such as spectrum), and characters from chapter 4????

8th grade reviewed all fifteen vocabulary weather words and saw a video on the job of a meteorologist.  I know that they will NOT have a quiz on Monday.

TOMORROW I will check the reading logs.  You will have a quick grammar lesson and then go to the Media Center for checkout and AR tests.

Hello Everybody!

Are you reading for 30 minutes EVERY night?

Alarm_jumps Reading Logs are due each Friday. Worth 10 points, they are "gimme" points.  Parents, please remember to sign your child's reading log each Thursday night.

Tomorrow I will check to see who has brought their SRB (silent reading book) to class.  You are to bring the SRB to class EVERY DAY!

On Friday you will go to the Media Center to check out books (SRBs), take AR tests, and to read silently.

Hello 6th Graders!

Today you had 2 Olympic presentations from Jaeseung and Dasom.  Jun and Jan will present their project tomorrow.

You also began a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast the ancient and modern Olympics.  You will finish it tomorrow.

Your vocabulary words today were ancient, modern, compare, contrast.

Hello 7th Graders!

You worked very well on your story segment summaries today.  You will finish the illustration of your summary tomorrow.

Tomorrow you will also continue the DGP about independant and dependant clauses.

I will give a Jolly Rancher to the student who can tell me the definition of an independant clause.

Hello 8th Graders!

Today you added more vocabulary words to your list of Weather Words.  The complete list, so far is as follows:  newspaper, radio, television, observation, weather, forecast, breezy, humidity, overcast, meteorologist, thermometer, anemometer, barometer, precipitation, rain gauge

You will review the meanings of these words tomorrow and hopefully be able to see the video that I tried to show today about meteorology.

I did not do a grammar lesson today, but tomorrow I will give a Jolly Rancher to the student who can explain independant clause to me
