Tobacco Free Kids has a wide variety of information, reports, and statistics on tobacco usage.  Be sure to go to the bottom left hand corner of the page and find the tobacco toll on Georgia.

Get Outraged is a website that contains many facts about second-hand smoke, news, and commercials from an ad campaign warning people on the dangers of second hand smoke.

Guide to Quit Smoking

The American Cancer Society has put together a guide to quit smoking.  The Guide includes answers to critical questions such as "Why should one quit smoking?" and "How do I make sure I stay a non-smoker?"

American Heart Association

The American Heart Association is an organization dedicated to reducing disability due to cardiovascular disease and stroke.  Its website lists the warning signs of cardiac arrest, stroke warning signs, and a risk assessment.

American Cancer Society

Class Requirements

1.  A pocket folder for daily work stays in the classroom.

2.  Paper and pencils or pens are needed for class assignments.

3.  Three  articles on current events in health fields must be collected outside of class.  Find examples of health in the news.

4.  Keep all assignments, handouts, worksheets and current events in your class folder.  Folders are graded two times during the 9 weeks.

Grading

The grading policiy is as follows:

60% of the grade is from the tests.  The three highest test grades are averaged to determine this grade.

40% of the grade is for the class folder.  This includes all 2 articles and completed assignments.
