Welcome to Mrs. Craft's Health Class

All students will study Health for a 9 weeks period during the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.  This is a state requirement.  Our mission is to educate students about the physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects of health.  We encourage our students to make choices and decisions each day that promote good health.  By making intelligent health choices, true wellness can be achieved.

Class Requirements

1.  A pocket folder for daily work stays in the classroom.

2.  Paper and pencils or pens are needed for class assignments.

3.  Three  articles on current events in health fields must be collected outside of class.  Find examples of health in the news.

4.  Keep all assignments, handouts, worksheets and current events in your class folder.  Folders are graded two times during the 9 weeks.

Grading

The grading policiy is as follows:

60% of the grade is from the tests.  The three highest test grades are averaged to determine this grade.

40% of the grade is for the class folder.  This includes all articles and completed assignments.

Human Growth and Development

Human Growth and Development is taught for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders toward the end of each nine weeks.

Sixth Graders receive approximately one week of instruction in Human Growth and Development.

Seventh and Eighth Graders receive approximately two and a half weeks of Human Growth and Development.

Parent permission is required for attendance in class.
