Week of September 26

Monday - We will check our understanding of narrative text. We will do a partner activity with affixes. We will begin vocabulary unit #2.

Tuesday - We will do an activity with base words and work with a partner on prefixes and suffixes.

Wednesday - We will work on a review for our test.

Thursday - We will go to the Media Center to take AR tests, and checkout books. We will complete our work with affixes.

Friday - We will take our test on Literary Story Elements.

For homework, you must read for at least a half hour every day.

Week of September 19

Monday - We will check our comprehension questions on To Build a Fire and read in our textbook about making predictions.

Tuesday -We will continue with predictions and work on prefixes.

Wednesday - We will work on affixes - prefixes and suffixes.

Thursday - We will have our vocabulary test.

Friday - We will go to the Media Center to take AR tests and checkout books. 

For homework, you must read for at least a half hour every day.

Week of September 12

Monday - We will continue this week with vocabulary unit #1. We will continue with plot in our Best Short Stories book, pp. 83-107, and have a quiz on plot.

Tuesday -We will discuss To Build a Fire by Jack London and analyze the story.

Wednesday - Students will do a plot diagram on To Build a Fire.

Thursday - We will do comprehension questions on To Build a Fire and do an adjective activity.

Friday - We will go to the Media Center for a Scavenger Hunt, take AR tests and checkout books. 

For homework, you must read for at least a half hour every day.

Week of September 5

Tuesday - We will begin Vocabulary Unit #1 and do an oral class activity.

Wednesday - We will begin a Literary Elements power point covering all the elements.

Thursday - We will continue with Literary Elements.

Friday - We will go to the Media Center to take AR tests and checkout books. 

For homework, you must read for at least a half hour every day.
