Week of August 29

Monday - We will do a book report on our summer reading in class. You must bring your summer reading book and necessary supplies. Bring mechanical pencils, loose-leaf notebook paper, colored pencils and/or markers.

Tuesday -We will have a power point on plot.

Wednesday - We will work on plot in our textbook - Reader's Journey.

Thursday - We will complete our work on plot.

Friday - We will go to the Media Center to learn about Destiny, take AR tests and checkout books. 

For homework, you must read for at least a half hour every day.

Week of August 22

I look forward to meeting parents at Open House on Tuesday evening.

Monday - We will get our textbook - Reader's Journey. We will do a get acquainted activity.

Tuesday -We will have a pretest and do a scavenger hunt on our textbook.

Wednesday - We will continue our scavenger hunt.

Thursday - We will do a class activity.

Friday - We will go to the Media Center to do Star Testing and checkout books. 

For homework, you must read for at least a half hour every day.

Week of August 15

Welcome to 6th Grade and an exciting year of reading.

Please remember to bring a book to read each day in class.  Your daily homework will be to read a half hour every day.

This week we are focusing on reading introductory activities. We will go to the Media Center on Friday.

 

Everyday in Class

Read, Read Read!                                                                                                                              

We read everyday in class.   Always come to class with a novel.  We respect everyone's right to read uninterrupted.  Daily homework is always to read for at least a half hour.
