Assignment:  Read chapters 7 and 8 of Summer of My...  Answer questions and do your vocabulary.  Be sure you are keeping up with the work!  Also, bring a #2 lead pencil tomorrow to take a scan tron test over grammar practice.

3/29/08

Assignment:  For Monday, read up to chapter 6 in the novel.  Complete questions and vocabulary for those chapters.  Keep working on your character chart and add only main characters.

3/28/08

Assigment:  Read chapters 3 & 4 of Summer of My German Soldier.  Do the questions and vocabulary.  Be sure you are keeping up with all the work as it is assigned.  Tomorrow we will be in the E3 lab to finish the research.  Bring all your work to the lab as you may work on it as you turn in your questions from the research.

Assignment:  Read chapter 2 of Summer...  Work on the questions, character chart, and vocabulary for both chapters.  Be sure you keep up with this book and the required work. 

Continue studying the vocabulary from SAT 6.  Test will be next week.

3/24/08

Assignment:  Read chapter 1 of Summer of My German Soldier.  Bring all handouts with you tomorrow as we will be discussing characters as well as themes in book.  You MUST have your book with you tomorrow....you have had over two (2) weeks to pick it up.  Also finish Warm Up #13.

Prepare for a vocabulary test over SAT #6 next week.  Use your flashcards!

Assignment:  None for tonight.  Be sure to pick up the book Summer of My German Soldier and 3x5 notecards.  You need the notecards for Wednesday and the book by next Monday, March 24th.  See you tomorrow.

Mystery Book Project due on Monday, March 17.  Also, get a copy of Summer of My German Soldier  by Monday, March 24th.  Borders at The Avenue has a shipment of books if you care to purchase your book there.  Also, have 3x5 notecards by Wednesday for our next SAT vocabulary lesson.

3/13/08

Assignment:  Test tomorrow over Mystery Unit.  Turn in your charts, three wishes sheet, and reflection paragraph.

Project Due:  Monday, March 17.   

Please find a copy of Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Greene.  I have ordered books at Borders at The Avenue if you would like to purchase one there. You must have a copy of the book by Monday, March 24th.   Also pick up more 3x5 notecards and bring them to school.  We will be working on SAT vocabulary, Wednesday, March 19.  You need your cards.

3/12/08 Assignment: Tomorrow, we will have a work day. All charts should be completed. If you have any questions about the stories, we can discuss them. Bring your charts and your book as you will work with a partner part of the time. Remember: Test is on Friday. Charts, Three Wishes sheet, and the Reflection on "The Birthmark" is due! 

Also, your project is due on Monday.  Footprint with clues, author/title, and decorations needed.  Ten literary terms should be identified in your mystery book...approximately a paragraph for each.  Remember, you must prove that you know the term and you have read the book.

Assignment:  Do chart for "The Landlady" and finish other 5 charts.  Remember, all charts are due on Friday as well as the "Three Wishes" sheet.  Study for the test Friday.  Use the half sheet paper given out about the final as preparation for the final.  You must know authors, stories, characters, and items.   If you have not finished reading any of the stories, I will be here by 8:20 each day for you to come to my room and finish reading or ask questions.  Remember, this test goes on your 3rd quarter grade.

Project is due on Monday, March 17.  Have your literary terms sheet completed as well as your footprint completed.
