Assignment:  Bring your 5x7 notecards to class tomorrow. Also, bring colored pencils if you have them.  We will be working on the cards after the SAT 4 video.  If you are not yet finished with your persuasive essay, you will be given a chance to finish that as well.  Happy Halloween!!!

We continue to write the persuasive essay in class.  We should be finished by tomorrow!  Keep reading at home and get those reading cards to your math teachers this week.

10-26-07Today we took the vocabulary test over the first 3 lessons of the SAT prep course.  We also continued working on our persuasive essay.  The essay will be completed next week and all work is being done in class.  By Wednesday, all students should have the essay written on "special" paper that will be handed out as needed.

Study for the vocabulary test on Friday.  Remember it includes all three word lists.

Bring your completed work from the MESS strategies numbers 1, 2, &3.  We will be correcting in class tomorrow.

We will continue to write our persuasive paper in class each day.

Assignment:  Finish part 3, exercises A & B on the MESS worksheet.  All this will be collected when we are completed.  Do not lose any of the work!!!

We are writing a first draft of a persuasive essay.  All writing will be done in class.

Assignment:  Finish the worksheet, Exercises 1 & 2, for MESS strategies.  Remember to bring this to class on Monday.  Also, study for your vocabulary test on Friday...All SAT words from the past 3 lessons.

Assignment:  Finish the worksheet assignment from class today.  Also, vocabulary card check tomorrow in class.  Bring all 20 cards!

Vocabulary Test next Friday, Oct. 26.  It will include all 3 units of SAT vocabulary words.  Start reviewing now!  Good luck!!!

No homework tonight.  Bring your 3x5 cards to class tomorrow to work on vocabulary.  The cards are due on Friday.  Remember:  Word, definition, part of speech and colored picture.  Also bring a silent reading book tomorrow in case you finish everything early.

All personal narratives should be turned in by now.  This grade will go on the 2nd nine weeks as the first 9 weeks ends on Monday.

Monday we will continue our vocabulary SAT III study by presenting the words to the class.  Be prepared to do that.

Narrative paper due Friday, Oct. 12.  Bring your paper, rubric and final rough draft.  Staple rubric on top of final copy and the rough draft in the back.  Remember, no late work is accepted!!  Also, bring your notecards tomorrow for SAT III vocabulary.
