Friday, Oct. 28

Math 6:  There will be a unit test on fractions next Wed., Nov. 2nd.  A study guide went home today.  Begin your work on it, and begin to prepare for the test....remember, Monday is Halloween!  Also, complete the "steer" worksheet, doing the work in your spiral, but writing the equation you will use to solve the problem on the worksheet itself (just like we did in class).   Bring a dry erase marker and eraser to class Monday and Tuesday,

math 6/7:  "fraction challenge" turn it in on Monday - with work - if you would like a 5 point bonus coupon for later use.  Bring colored pencils or markers to class on Monday.

Thursday, Oct. 27

math 6:  finish the "doughnut" worksheet begun in class.

math 6/7:  study for part II of the fraction/decimal unit test.  Review your word problems!

Wed., Oct. 26

I am not in on Thursday morning....so there will be no help session tomorrow.

math 6:  complete the "crack the code" worksheet.  Do the work in your spiral, following the 3-step format used in class

math 6/7:  Study for tomorrow's unit test on fractions and decimals, part I.  Use your resources...review packets and old homework assignments. 

Tuesday, Oct. 25

There will not be a help session on Thursday morning.  I will not be in until the afternooon.

math 6:  do the work in your spiral for "Egyptian girl"

maht6/7:  in the review packet, do pg. 1 #1-4 and then the left column only.  On pg. 2 do all the word problems and then the left column only.  You may limit yourself to only 30 mins. of time.  There will be a Fraction/Decimal Unit test this coming Thursday and Friday. 

Monday, Oct. 24

There will be a help session tomorrow at 8:15am.

math 6:  finish #1-10 on the "pumpkin problems" worksheet.

math 6/7:  Complete"caveman" and "cow" worksheets in your packet.  Show your work in your spiral, but write the equation you will solve directly beneath the problem.

Wed. - Fri., Oct. 19, 20 and 21

I am out on Thursday and Friday this week...so there will not be a morning help session tomorrow (Thursday). 

Wed. homework:  Math 6:  "secret code" (do the mental math...skip decoding the key at the bottom) and "horoscope" (show work in your spiral).  Quiz on Friday.

math 6/7:  "snowman and "tree chop down".  Fraction test on Friday.

Thursday homework: All classes have a review sheet of problems and topics on tomorrow's exams.  Math 6 has a quiz Friday...so study!  Use the review from class (which you need to finish if you have not yet done so) and old homework assignments.  Also, you must do problems 1-11 on the "hidden message" worksheet.   Math 6/7 has a test tomorrow.  Use the review and your packet, and study all the fraction material.  Remember to do 30 mins. of work tonight on completing the packet, and then turn it in tomorrow as a graded assignment.

Friday's homework:  Math 6:  none    math 6/7:  "pumpkin problems" #1-10.

Tuesday, Oct. 18

There will not be a help session on Thursday morning.

math 6:  Complete the "multiplication of fractions" worksheet.  Do that one side only.  You may show your cancellation work on the worksheet itself.  You will have a quiz on Friday over adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions and mixed numbers.

math 6/7:  Complete the "doughnut" and "steer" worksheets.  Write the equation necessary to solve the problem on the worksheet underneath the question itself.  Solve in your spiral.  You will have a fraction test on Friday.

Monday, Oct. 17

There is a help session tomorrow morning at 8:15am

math 6:  Finish the "ghost" and "tree chop down" worksheets.  Document your thinking and show your work in your spiral. 

math 6/7:  complete "quotient quilt" and "super heroes use decimals" worksheets.  Show your work in your spiral.

Both classes will have a quiz this coming Friday.

Friday, Oct. 14

math 6:  finish the "hippo" ws, doing all the problems.  For the "martian" worksheet, do problem # 8-15.  All work is in your spiral, in the required "upside down T" format.

math 6/7:  Your green sheet is due on Monday.  Also, complete "round of golf" ws in your packet and the front side only of the "multiplication of 3 fractions" worksheet (not in your packet).

Thursday, Oct. 13

math 6:  "Love Letters" worksheet, do the work in your spiral in the "upside down T" format.

math 6/7:  the green sheet is due Monday.  Put the answers and any work on the sheet itself.
