Help session tomorrow morning, 8:15 am, for all my students.  Report to the study hall in the cafeteria, wait for my name to be called.

math 6:  "stem and leaf plots" worksheet.  Remember to draw a rough draft in your spiral before you put your final copy on the worksheet. READ AND FOLLOW THE 4 STEPS on the front of the worksheet.

math 6/7:  complete sides 1 and 2 of your new packet.  Also do 2-7 Enrichment ws, # 5-8.  There's a quiz tomorrow, on calculating mean, median, mode and range, and their application (like 2-7 worksheet).  Also, be prepared to produce a stem and leaf plot.  We will review homework first, prior to taking our quiz.

Monday, Aug. 29

I will not be in tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 30th.  Therefore, help sessions will begin on Thursday, Sept. 1st.

math 6:  for homework do text pg. 759, #1-7 and pg. 324, #2-8 (but omit #5).  Put your answers to these pages in your spiral notebook.  Also do workbook pg. 50, writing your answers directly on the workbook page itself.  hint: think about using a break in the scale for pg. 324, #6.

math 6/7:  homework:  read text pgs. 326-327. do the 10-4 study guide (the one side only...do not do the 10-4 practice side) Also do textbook pg. 328, #1-8 and textbook pg. 759, #1-7.

Study for your quiz on Monday!

math 6:  use your 5 worksheets and your past homework assignments to prepare for the quiz.

math 6/7:  Study for Monday's quiz, using your packet and other assignments.  You will be turning the packet in on Monday.

Help sessions begin next week, Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:15am.

Thursday, Aug. 25

QUIZ ON MONDAY IN ALL CLASSES

math 6:  Note:  Oops! The study guide was not handed out in 4th period.  Those students only will be given class time tomorrow to work on it.  Other classes, complete the study guide. The Line Plot Lyrics sheet is to be completed by all.  Answer the 8 questions.  This will be collected tomorrow for a grade.

Enrichment sheets were made available for those students seeking a bit more challenge in their work.  These are by no means required, nor is their completion is awarded any extra credit.

math 6/7:  Complete the last page of the packet and the Line Plot Lyrics sheet, answering the 8 questions.  This will be collected tomorrow.

Wed. Aug. 24

math 6:  "zoo" worksheet, both sides.  Read and follow the directions.  Quiz on Monday...review sheet will go home tomorrow.  All topics since the beginning to the year are included!

math 6/7:  return the signed syllabus slip; do packet sides 7,8,9,10.  (this leaves only the last page of the packet undone).  Quiz Monday on all topics since we started this unit.

Tuesday, Aug. 23

OPEN HOUSE is tonight!  PTSA meeting begins at 6 pm.

math 6 homework:  Wind Speed and Puppy Names worksheet. Remember to produce neat graphs, using a ruler.  Answer question 2 in a complete sentence.  Draw the grouped frequency table you will need in order to make a histogram in the box for question 4.

math 6/7:  packet sides 3, 4, 5, 6.  Refer to math 6 homework for hints. 

 

Monday, Aug. 22

math 6:  text pg. 310, # 1-7 (omit #4).  Do this work neatly in your spiral.

math 6/7:  in the packet you received today, complete BOTH sides of the first page...on double and stacked bar graphs

Friday, Aug. 19

math 6 homework:  "Grouped Frequency Tables" worksheet, #5-8.  Do the work in your spiral.  Read through the sample problem, and do your "Goldilocks" thinking to find the proper sized interval to use in #5 and 6. 

math 6/7:  "no sleeping" and "extreme thrills" ws.  Put your answers on the worksheet.  Do your best!  I understand about the short class time period...

Thursday, Aug. 18

Tomorrow is locker day, so bring in all your math supplies.

math 6:  "ungrouped frequency tables" worksheet, do #1-4 in your spiral.  We did #1 in class together.

math 6/7:  same assignment as math 6, but also do #5 and 6 on the back side.

homework:  bring in your favorite healthy snack tomorrow (only one serving...for you!).  We are collecting data.  Also, answer the ten questions on the back of the handout you were given in class.
