Monday: Quiz on Verbs - principle parts of irregular and regular verbs. See worksheets and notes. Example: The 4 principle parts are: present (e.g.: ride), present participle (am riding), past (rode), and past participle (have ridden). You'll be given a verb, and you will write it in the principle part shown. Example: Write the present participle form of jump. Answer: am jumping For Anna - Study your new flashcards - spelling quiz on Friday.
Tuesday: The quiz on verbs will be on Friday. See above note. There will be a quiz tomorrow on The Clay Marble chapters 1-12. Be sure that you've completed flashcards for the vocabulary that will be on the test. You'll turn in your flashcards for credit.

Monday: Workbook 119-120 common usage problems. Clay Marble quiz on Friday for chapters 1-8. See study sheets that we complete as we read each chapter. On the quiz will be questions and vocabulary that are on those sheets. Muneerah is responsible for chapter 8 only. Anna will not be quizzed on any of these, but she will have a spelling quiz on Friday.
Tuesday: Everyone must have completed flashcards on Wednesday for the vocabulary that you will be quizzed on this Friday. Anna should make cards for her spelling/sentences for this Friday's quiz.
Wednesday: Worksheet 111-112 on principal parts of verbs, verb quiz next Wednesday, quiz this Friday on ch 1-8 The Clay Marble, Anna - spelling quiz.

Monday: Finish the worksheet started in class - 5C There will be a test on Wednesday on the 3 types of sentences. Study your notes! The format of the test will be like tonight's homework, and also I'll have sentences that you will label as simple, compound, or complex.
Tuesday: Test tomorrow on simple, compound, and complex sentences. Review your worksheets 5A-C and your Study Guide. There will be two parts of the test: #1 Label sentences either simple, compound, or complex. #2 I'll give a formula, such as SVV or I,cI or D,I ,and you will write a sentence that goes with that formula. Good luck - this is a really, really big grade! I'll be here at 8:15 in my room for a help session, and you're invited to come.
Thursday: For those of you who made less than a C on the Types of Sentences test, you must finish worksheet 5D and be prepared to re-take a similar test in class tomorrow.
For those of you who made an A, B, or C on the test, you must complete your 2 Misplaced Modifiers activities. Be sure to follow the rubric for directions.

Monday: Worksheets 1A and 1B Complex sentences. (Your agenda has 1A-1D, but we changed that in class.)
Tuesday: Memorize your Subordinate Conjunction song which is sung to the tune of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". You'll have to know it on Monday.
Wednesday - Friday: You'll need to sing the Subordinate Conjunction song on Monday. There will be a test next Wednesday on simple, compound, and complex sentences. You'll need to identify them as well as compose them.
