Carlton - 3rd period - The students are working on their civil rights timeline projects. Each student has been assigned a significant event from the civil rights era to research and present to the class. This fproject will provide background to the time period in which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. Next week we will begin our literary analysis of the speech. We will examine and analyze the literary devices Dr. King used and discuss the impact of words on our lives and society.
All students should complete their research project in class by Friday, February 3, 2012. If you do not finish on Friday, you will need to complete the work at home this weekend. Be sure to bring a flashdrive to class on Friday to save your work.
