Welcome back!

Here we are in our second week of school already!  We kicked off the 2010/2011 school year with an important look at bullying in our schools.  All of the art classes have been working hard to illustrate the effects of bullying on students.  Eighth grade has been working on posters using the slogans from the "Take Action against bullying" book.  These posters should be finished today.  The next project in art will involve taking a look at surreal art.  Surrealism was a modern movement where the artist illustrated the unconcious.  Surreal drawings and paintings have a "dream-like' quality to them.  We will begin this assignment with a study of hands.  We will begin drawing hands today and these will be incorporated into our final piece.
