Week of August 17th to the 21st

The topic for this week is probability.

Mon. Math8: simple probability HW: back of worksheet "Why are oysters greedy" Enriched: Simple probability after working on last Friday's assignment HW: green workbook 10-1 page 74

Tues. Math8: more simple probability with "or" and overlap HW: Assignment 5 Probability Review Enriched: compound probability with dependent and independent events HW: green workbook 10-5 and 10-2 on experimental probability

Everyone has a quiz on Thursday.

Wed. Math8: more probability and review for quiz HW: do review sheet for quiz Enriched: more probability with mutually exclusive and inclusive and more about fair and unfair games. HW: worksheet 10-10 and back.

Thurs. Math8: take quiz HW: green workbook 10-1 on page 74 Enriched: take quiz HW:none but students started taking notes on odds from the Algebra book.

Fri. Math8: compund probability HW:none Enriched: Odds HW: red workbook 10-6

Week of August 10th to 14th: Welcome!

Mon. Math8 and Enriched: Students received a syllabus for the class and a general introduction to the course and expectations for the year. HW: Have the syllabus signed and returned by Friday. Try to be organized with materials by Monday.

Tues. Math8 and Enriched: Unit 1 -Probability will be taught over the next 3 weeks. This week is all about the possible outcomes. HW: Math8: worksheet with 2 scenerios Enriched:worksheet with 2 scenerios and worksheet #2.

Wed. Math8: more outcomes HW: half sheet of proactice problems Enriched:Permutations HW: back of worksheet titled "Did you hear..."

Thurs. All students received a textbook and 2 workbooks. Math8 reviewed outcomes HW: finish 10-5 Practice worksheet and back Enriched:did combinations HW: finish worksheet

Fri. Math 8 worked on practicing the Fundamental Counting Principle, the worksheet will be graded for a Graded Assignment. Student were able to discuss the problems with their math partners. HW:none for 1s, 2nd period had homework because they needed to catch-up. Enriched: worked on permutations and combinations in class, the assignment will be a Graded Assignment. HW: none
