Mon. Math8: did 7-2 in textbook HW: worktext page 196 and workbook page 48 Enriched: 7-2 in green textbook HW: 2 worksheets on finding missing angles.

Tues Math8: Finding angle measures, did worksheet in class HW: worksheet  Enriched: analyzing angle relationships, did "Lunch Line" task in class HW:finish task and do worksheet

Special Note: there will be a quiz on Friday March 7th, a unit 6 test on Thursday March 13th and a benchmark exam on Friday March 14th.

Wed. Math8: Did proportions and did worktext page 198 in class. HW: worksheet Enriched: did proportions, congruence, and similar. HW: worktext page 199, workbook page 52 and worksheet on similar (these were started in class)

Thurs. Math8:did a review for quiz and worked on proportions HW: worksheet and study for quiz Enriched: Geometry theorems and review for quiz HW: finish packet and study for quiz EVERYONE need to do test corrections by Mon.

Fri Math8:took quiz and started slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines HW: test corrections and 1st worksheet on writing equations Enriched:took quiz and started a packet on polygons HW: test corrections and start packet, there will be time on Monday to finish.

Week of February 25th to 29th

Mon. Math8: review scatter plots with line of best fit and linear equation word problems HW: none but take the time to catch up and study for test. Enriched: more word problems HW: page 304: 57 to 63 and page 312: 64 to 71(these were started in class).

Tues. Math8: inequality word problems HW: worksheet reviewing for test (like a study guide) Enriched: finish task word problems and review for test HW: page 327 in Algebra book

Wed. Math8: more review HW:go over the reviews and graphic organizer Enriched: more review HW: go over the reviews and graphic organizer

Thurs. Math8 and Enriched: take test to Unit 5 part 2 HW:be organized and ready for homework quiz tomorrow.

Fri. Math8 and Enriched: took homework quiz, started a vocabulary booklet for Unit 6 and measured angles with a protractor.

Week of February 18th to 22nd

Mon. and Tues. No school

Wed. Math8: linear equations from tables HW: worksheet (short side with 6 problems was done in class) do problems 1 to 9. Enriched: linear eaquations from tables and 5.6 standard form HW: table worksheet and Algebra book page 311 problems 18 to 42 every 3rd (this part was started in class)

Thurs. Math8: scatter plots (this is in the textbook ch.12 section 7) HW: worktext page 415 problems 1+2 page 416 problems 3+4 and page 417 problems 1+2. Enriched: 5.7 in Algebra book; did activity from page 315 in class HW: pages 319+320 problems 11 to 24.

NOTE: both Math8 and Enriched will have a test on Thursday Feb. 28th. It is unit 5 part 2 on writing equations and inequalities.

Week of February 11th to 15th

Tues. Math8 took homework quiz and did writing equations of the line when given the slope and y-intercept or a graph HW: worksheet Enriched: 5.3 write linear equations given 2 points HW: finish pages 288 to 290 problems 18 to 20 all; 36 to 44 evens; 45 to 57 all; and 61 to 65 all.

Wed. Progress reports go home and need to be signed and returned.

Wed. Math8: write an equation given the slope and 1 point.HW: worksheet point-slope Enriched: start line of best fit for scatter plots 5.4 Algebra book and 12.7 in green textbook HW: worktext page 413 and 6th and 7th period also got to page 297: 17 to 24.

Thurs. Week of January 28th to February 1st

Mon. Math8: packet section 3.1 HW: questions 6 and 7 on pages 14 and 15 of packet. Enriched: review 4.3, 4.4 and 4.6 in Algebra book for quiz Tuesday HW: finish class work page 800 problems 7 to 30 and 40 to 47. Change the dirctions on 7 to 14, state the slope and y-intercept of each equation (no tables and no graphing). Follow the directions on the other questions.

Tues. Math8: finding slope from a graph, Chapter 7 section 5 in green textbook HW: worksheet Enriched: take quiz HW: none, unless any previous assignments are incomplete.

Wed. Math8: Finding the slope of the line using two points, can be found in Ch.12 section 2 HW: Worksheet (front side was done together in class, back is for homework). Enriched: comparing arithmetic sequences with linear equations HW: workbook page 96. Add the directions of writing an equation in y=mx+b  for each arithmetic sequence.

Thurs. Math8: Finding the x and y intercepts and reviewing for a quiz Friday. HW: Review notes, packets and worksheet for the quiz Enriched: Graphing inequalities HW: workbook page 94 and worktext page 407.

Thurs. Math8: More Linear Relationships HW: packet pages 13 + 14 problems 4 and 5. Enriched: slope-intercept form of the equation, 4.6 HW: pages 244 and 245 problems 14 to 50 evens and 52 to 55 all.

Fri. Math8: Needed extra time to finish 1.2 in packet HW: none Enriched: Perpendicular lines HW: page 246 problems 71 to 77.

Week of January 14th to 18th

Mon. Math8: Recursive form of arithmetic sequences and graphing HW: worksheets Enriched: Recursive and other sequences in 13-3. HW: pages 695 and 696 problems 1 to 12 in green textbook

If anyone would like to come in for extra help or to catch-up I will be available on Tuesday and Friday starting at 8:15.

This section is too short for a test, so there will be a quiz on Friday.

Tues. Math8: More recursive, explicit and graphing HW: Bridge Project worksheet and finish Multiple Representations of Sequence worksheets (remember it won't be due till Thurs.) Enriched: Geometric Sequences HW: workbook page 97 and same worksheets as Math8 (remember it won't be due till Thurs.)

Wed. Due to the state writing test and the movie for Language Arts there will not be regular classes. Except for 3rd period.

Thurs. Math8 and Enriched: did review worksheets for the quiz tomorrow. HW: finish the review. Ms. Kennedy put the answers on her blog.

Fri. Math8 and Enriched: take quiz then do worksheets HW: finish worksheet.

Wed. Math8 and Enriched: Start patterns and sequences from chapter 3 section 6 and chapter 13 sections 1, 2, and 3. HW: workbook page 23 problems 1 to 18.

Thurs. Math8 and Enriched: Put Arithmetic Sequences in function form  y=dn+c HW: do the back of the worksheet and bottom of workbook page 23.

Fri. Math8 and Enriched: Put Arithmetic Sequences in explicit (closed) form; see chapter 13 section 1. HW: worksheet  Enriched also did graphic representations.

Week of December 17th to 21st

Mon. Math8 Review for test on Wed HW worktext pages 80, 82 and 83 Enriched - Review for test HW: workbook pages 20 and 21 and a worksheet.

Tues Everyone was given a review sheet for the exam on Friday. In class we continued to review for the test tomorrow. Math8 did pages 150 to 153 problems 7 to 40 and Enriched did pages 264 and 266 in the algebra book problems 1 to 9 and 29 to 32, they also read over the same problems as regular Math8.

Wed. Everyone will take a test then work on exam review. HW: Review exam topics.

Thurs. Everyone will review exam topics in class and for homework.

Fri. Take exam 1st and 2nd period then have a wonderful holiday and winter vacation.
