Week of Sept. 24th to 28th

Mon. Math8- Simplifying Radicals-HW: worksheet with matching answers. En. Math 8: Algebra book page 514 problems 14 to 32 evens

Help sessions are Tues. and Thurs. morning at 8:15 am.

Tues. Math8 HW: finish the worksheet given in class, both sides. We did a lot of it together in class. En. Math8: HW- page 514 problems 34 to 49 all and page 719 problems 7, 10, 12, 31,32, 40, 41, and 43.

Wed. Math 8 HW: worksheet with adding and subtracting radicals En. Math 8 HW: Worksheet with adding and subtracing radicals with matching answers

Thurs. Math 8 HW: finish review worksheet for quiz Friday En Math 8 HW: finish review worksheet for quiz Friday

Fri. Everyone took a quiz over squares, square roots, and simplifying radicals (whether multiplying, dividing, adding, or subtracing). HW:Math8-worksheet do all of the front and 1-10 on the back with the matching answers(show all work) En Math 8- worksheet simplifying radicals with mixed numbers(show work)

Remember there is ITBS testing each morning next week.

Week of Sept. 17th to 21st

Mon. Math 8: Review for the test tomorrow. There are practice problems from review, textbook and online. Ms. Hajduk in 8D put the review and the answers on her blog. En. Math 8: Test tomorrow. Answers to Friday's review were given in class.  Also, the review on pages 494 and 495, the odd answers are in the back of the book.

Tues. Everyone took a test and needs to have homework assignments in order ready for homework quiz Wed.

Wed. Everyone needs to do the vocabulary worksheet.  The four terms are; reciprocal, exponent, exponential notation(form), and scientific notation. Everyone received their progress report today and it needs to be signed by the parent and returned.

Thurs. Everyone will do an introduction to squares and square roots. The homework will be page 28 in the workbook (which is the smaller one).

Fri. Everyone will work with estimating square roots. Homework will be page 29 in the workbook.

Week of Sept.10th to 14th

Mon. Math 8: HW. worksheet "Simplifying Negative Exponents"  En.Math 8: HW- Algebra book page 466  odd problems 19-47 and correct errors from previous homework

Tues. Math 8: HW- page 109 in worktext  En. Math 8: HW- page 459 problem 14 to 44 evens and page 466; 20 to 46 evens

Wed.Math 8: HW- page 26 in workbook(thinner book)   En.Math 8: HW- page 473 problems 16 to 36 all

Thurs. Math 8: HW- page 27 in workbook(thinner book) En. Math 8: HW- page 473 problems 37 to 46

Fri. Math 8: HW- review worksheet that reviews for the test on Tues. En. Math 8: HW: Review worksheet for Tuesday's test.

Extra Help Session: There will be a help session on Mon. at 8:15am because the test is Tues.  I will keep the regular Tues. and Thurs. help sessions.

Mon.  No school

Tues. Started a new unit on exponents  HW: page 159 in textbook, do 1 to 31 all - change the directions for problems 17 to 25 do not find the product just rewrite using exponential notation.

Wed. Math 8: HW-page 101 in worktext  En. Math 8: HW-page 453+4 problems 22 to 68 all including 75 and 76 in Algebra textbook

Thurs. Math 8: HW- worktext page 103  En.Math8: Algebra book page 459: 15 to 45 odds

Fri.  Math 8: HW: new workbook page 25  En. Math8: worksheet with practice problems from 8-1 and 8-2.

The parent letter for the new unit was sent home this week, it should be in thier binder.
