Homework for 4-30

Students need to complete the graphing problems  on worksheet 1-12.

There will be a quiz Wednesday over: Guess my rule, Find the missing values and graphing function table solutions.

A help session will be offered Wednesday morning at 8:20.

Please return signed progress reports to homeroom teachers.

Homework for 4-27

There is no homework this weekend. Yesterday, we said good-bye to our wonderful student teacher Mrs. Hajduk. She did an outstanding job with our students and we will MISS her very much!!!!

Homework for 4-25

Students need to complete the worksheet "Function grafun".

Please remember to sign your child's progress report tonight.

No homework tonight!

Quiz Tomorrow!

We reviewed for our quiz in class today.  Students copied the following study guide:

Direct Proportion (Direct Variation):  How to solve problems where one variable varies directly with the other variable / How to find the constant of variation (also called the constant of proportionality) / how to use a graph to determine an equation in the form of y = kx / How to use a graph to determine the constant of variation (constant of proportionality)

Probability:  How to calculate experimental probability / How to calculate theoretical probability / How to determine the number of trials in experimental probability / How to predict using probability

For studying, students should review the two Direct Proportion worksheets (that include notes) and probability worksheets, workbook section 13-1, and any notes.

Help Session tomorrow morning at 8:20.

April 20, 2007

Today we continued to work with theoretical and expiremental probability.  If asked, students should be able to explain the difference and provide a method for finding each.

Tonight's homework is to finish the two worksheets handed out in class (most students finished in class).

Quiz on Tuesday over direct proportion and probability.

Help Session Tuesday morning at 8:20.

Homework for 4-18

Whew....The math portion of the CRCT was taken today. The feedback from the students was positive. Most of the students said that they felt comfortable with the material and felt as though they were prepared.

There is no homework tonight. The Thursday morning help session will not be held tomorrow. The students need a well deserved math break!

Have a good evening.

Experimental Probability

Does a coin always land on heads 50% of the time?  We compared theoretical and experimental probability in class today.  We'll explore this more in the upcoming week.

Tomorrow is the math portion of the CRCT.  Please review CRCT practice materials from the past weeks.

Probability

Today we had a "think tank" session to discuss theoretical probability, and we talked about probability on popular game shows.  Students used their knowledge to determine the probability of several different events.  We read section 13-1 in the textbook and worked the accompanying workbook page.

No homework!

Homework for 4-13

There is not a math assignment this weekend. We have reviewed for the CRCT. I returned the packet that was turned in on Wednesday. You may want to ask your child how he/she did on the work. The students were given the answers for all 65 problems. They should look over the problems that they missed before Wednesday!!

Get plenty of rest...next week will be a busy week of testing!

Please remember to have 2  #2 pencils for the test.

Also, please return the registration form to your homeroom teacher if you have not already done so.

Have a great weekend.
