We have continued this week with our literary analysis from the 60’s/Civil Rights era literature. The students began a literary analysis assignment that we are working on with “I Have a Dream.” Paragraph Chunking for essay questions was introduced to use on the essay portion of this assignment. Today, we completed a portion of this assignment. Make sure you keep up with the assignment each day.

1st Period – By Monday, you need to have Part 1 (Definitions) and Part 2 (Vivid Verbs) completed.
6th Period – By Monday, you need to have Part 1 (Definitions) and Part 2 (Vivid Verbs) completed. In addition, you need to have Part 3 partially completed.
7th Period - By Monday, you need to have Part 1 (Definitions) and Part 2 (Vivid Verbs) completed. In addition, you need to have Part 3 partially completed.

Announcement: Our final Literary Terms Test will be Monday, March 12th. A study guide will come before the test.
HIPPIE DAYS are coming! Tuesday, March 6th and Wednesday, March 7th! We discussed all of the volunteers and donations we will need to get ready for the day! We are in need of volunteers to help set-up and/or take-down, lava lamps, bean bags, and “hippie” décor. If you want to volunteer, please bring in a permission slip for set-up, Monday, March 5th or take-down Wednesday, March 7th.
If you have anything that you will be willing to lend (of course it will be returned to you afterwards), we will greatly appreciate it!!

Extra Credit opportunity! Memorize Lincoln's "Gettysburg Address" and be prepared to discuss it with me. You will receive extra credit points to be averaged into a grade. The last day for this opportunity will be the end of the quarter (Wednesday, March 14th)
