Friday is Space Day!!  The students began working on a project to celebrate Space Day.  They will be creating a travel brochure on any planet in our solar system.  The students can use the interesting and unusual facts about his/her chosen planet to persuade travelers to visit!

Today, we finished reading an exceprt from Exploring the Titanic.(Literature textbook 378-386).  The students worked in groups to answer the questions 1-5 on page 386.

Also, we added words to our vocabulary log.  We will have a vocabulary test next Thursday, May 8th. 

Homework:  6th Period:  add the words majestically, collision, novelty, watertight, and suspense to your vocabulary log using the story.  The word "suspense" will be found before the story begins; in the introduction.

We finished our video on energy and watched a video on fossil fuels today.

We began a historical fiction story on the "Titanic." We had a discussion about things the students know about the ship.  Also, we discussed suspense and ways author's use it in their writing.
