Today, the students watched a video and used their textbooks on pages 682-689 to complete a graphic organizer about the Inner Planets.

Today, we went over the answers to the study guide on the tenses of irregular verbs. The test will be after spring break, so the students can use any travel time they may have over break to study!
Also, we started brainstorming for the persuasive essay we will be writing this week. The students will be writing an essay on what animal they think will make the best pet. We used our WAG text on page 124-125.
The March AR reading test was due today!
Homework: Tomorrow we will have a D.G.P. quiz! Make sure those notebooks are organized!
Helping Verbs song - due by Friday, April 4th
Today, we watched a video on meteors and asteroids. The students completed a shaping-up review to go along with the video
The students received a study guide for their test on 4 principal parts of verbs. Their test will be next week.
They also worked on a packet using verb tenses.

Today, we learning about the heliocentric and geocentric views of the solar system. We took notes (slides 1-20)
Also, we completed a graphic organizer to describe and illustrate the different theories.

The students learned about the four principal parts of regular and irregular verbs and tenses: present, present participle, past, and past participle. We worked out of our WAG textbooks on pages 480-485.

We used the first half of the period to work on our “My Place in Space” posters. Also, we watched a short video explaining what the Big Bang theory is. The students took notes and wrote a paragraph explaining the theory.

To celebrate spring arriving, the students created a shape poem today with spring objects. They used personification to create their shape poem.

Today, we started our unit on the solar system. A new unit packet was passed today. The unit packet will be due on Friday, April 4, 2008.
We started our lab project called "My Place in Space." The students are creating a collage of where they live within our universe. They are exploring how smaller systems exist within larger systems as they build their collage of their place in space!
Homework: Partners should complete their Adopt a City graphs by Thursday!

We went to the media center to check out/renew books
March is the month for the students to choose a book to read for language arts. The students will be choosing an AR book that they can read. The students must choose a book that is 150 pages or more and at a 5th grade level or higher. They should take an AR test and turn it into me by the end of the month. This will count as a grade.
