TKAM – Part 2 – You are reading ON YOUR OWN! We will use class time to discuss and review the chapters. You need to complete the Final TKAM Project Bookmark. This is a TEST grade! This is Due Friday, May 18th! Remember: Bookmark - Your wisdom log may be from any Chapter in the novel. The words and literary devices MUST come from Part 2.
Dates for TKAM Reading
Monday, May 7th – Have Chapters 12-16 complete (You should be on Chapter 17)
Monday, May 14th – Have Chapters 17-25 complete (You should be on Chapter 26)
Friday, May 18th – Have Chapters 26-31 complete (You will be finished with the book).
Homework: TKAM – Keep up with the assigned reading!
Reminders:
The 8th Grade Dance is this Friday, May 11th from 7-9PM. Come celebrate the end of your 8th grade year! Remember, no jeans! In 1st Period, you were reminded that you need to stay for the entire dance and that the dance is for DMS 8th graders ONLY.
No bus notes will be approved the last two weeks of school.
Lunch on the Lawn is this Thursday, May 10th! Bring a blanket or beach towel!
Summer Writing Opporunities!
For students interested in creative writing, pursuing publishing, or simply improving their writing for AP and honors courses, KMWP offers four sessions at their 2012 Summer Youth Writing Academy this June at Kennesaw State University.
Creative Writing (High School) - June 11 - 15
Creative Writing (Middle School) - June 25 - 29
Explore your talents through fiction, poetry, and memoir. Write with style and voice in a supportive environment.
Teen Writers Studio (High School) - June 18 - 22
Join a community of serious writers and writing coaches to sharpen your skills and receive candid commentary on your writing (all genres). Participants create a digital anthology and explore publication opportunities.
Write from the Beginning (9th/10th grades) - June 18 - 22
For rising 9th and 10th graders preparing for the challenges of academic writing in AP and Honors courses. Focus on structure and language through creative digital storytelling techniques while you workshop a personal essay.
Each weeklong session is $150.00
All sessions are from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Kennesaw State University
