Today we reviewed histograms and learned how to read and create a line plot. 

2nd and 3rd period HW:  Complete "Interpreting Data"  worksheet.  Read carefully.  Quiz on Monday! Students will receive a study guide tomorrow.

1st, 4th and 5th period classes HW:  Finish Song Line Plot, Complete textbook page 759 (#1-7), Do Study Guide.  Quiz on Monday!

• Today we learned the differences between a bar graph and a histogram and how to create a histogram.  We will have our first quiz on Monday on the following: 
•  Know how to identify the scale and interval on a frequency table, bar graph and histogram.  Be able to state the 2 differences between a bar graph and a histogram.  Correctly identify the title and horizontal and vertical labels on these graphs.

HW:  2nd and 3rd period:   Complete Histogram worksheet (histogram side only)  Don't forget your labels on the vertcal and horizontal axis.

Week 2

Now that we have our 2nd Monday under the belt, we are settling into a routine.  Students should have all materials organized in their binders.  I will review the necessary supplies at open house Tuesday evening.  Our first unit is on Data Analysis.  Today we learned how to read and construct a bar graph.  We will be constructing some of our own tomorrow.

Welcome to 6th Grade Math!

What a great first day of middle school had by all!  Everybody seemed to find their way with relative ease. We began speaking about class expectations and procedures and completed a computational assessment.  Students should gather their supplies necessary for math and put together a math binder.  Necessary supplies for include the following:  1 1/2 inch binder with 3 dividers, 70 page spiral notebook, loose leaf paper, pencil pouch filled with pencils, dry erase marker and sock or rag.  Congrats on making it through day one of middle school!  Happy organizing!
