Today we worked on applications of mixed numbers.  We are working on solving word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions and mixed numbers.

Tonight's homework:  Complete problem solving worksheet- 6 word problems.  

Word Problem Illustration due on Friday.  Quiz Friday on addition and subtraction of mixed numbers including a few word problems. 

Follow steps 1-5:  1.  Write a word problem 2.  Draw a picture of the word problem  3.  Create an equation to solve the problem.  4.  Solve the problem  5. Write a sentence stating the answer to the problem.

Today we continued working with addition of mixed numbers and regrouping.

We had 10-15 minutes to begin our homework in class. Tonight's homework is to finish the "Lumberjack" worksheet.

HW:  Practice workbook page 36 Evens or Odds.   Show work in spiral notebook.

We continued working on changing fractions to decimals.  Homework:  Greek Decoder worksheet- front side only!  You do not have to decode the message....if you'd like to, you may!

We did a great job with today's lesson on decimals and fractions!  We reviewed place value to the thousandths place and learned how to convert a decimal into a fraction.  We will review mixed and improper fractions tomorrow and have a mini-quiz on that concept. 

Tonight's homework:  Complete practice worksheet 4-4.  Make sure your answers are in simplest form.

We have been doing a great job with fractions thus far.  The past couple of days we have been working on changing mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions to mixed numbers.  Tomorrow we will begin learning how to change decimals into fractions and fractions into decimals.

Tonight's homework:   Long division worksheet-  We need to review our division skills in order to convert fractions into decimals.

We had sort of a "pop quiz" today.  I was very pleased how well everybody scored on it! Check I-parent for scores. 

HW tonight:  5-5 Practice worksheet.  Changing mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions to mixed numbers.
